Celebrating the PYP Exhibition the Digital Way
This year, our Year 6 students completed an important capstone of their primary years journey with an online PYP exhibition. On 28th May 2020, our Year 6s of Bukit Timah campus shared their learning journey whilst giving glimpses of their works in a virtual format. At Orchard, the digital exhibition held from 3 to 5 June shows a collection of our Year 6 students' works where each of them created their own website, including their creative elements and documenting the learning process.
Choosing a topic of their personal interest based on "How We Express Ourselves", students inquired and applied essential elements of PYP transdisciplinary skills into their project. They had demonstrated and celebrated the results and action of their learning throughout the primary years. Each and every piece of work is a reflection of the amount of planning, thought process, and execution that students have put in to bring their ideas and projects to life.
The Covid-19 pandemic might have robbed students of the opportunity to physically showcase their works to people who matter. But one thing we are certain, is that it has not taken away their imagination, creativity and enthusiasm to adapt, learn and celebrate differently. Mr. Michael Jarvis Lucchesi, PYP Co-ordinator (Orchard) said, "We couldn't be prouder of our Year 6 students, teachers and community who have supported the exhibition process during Home-based learning. Chatsworth has a deserved reputation for running an innovative and creative exhibition. We're saddened that we won't be able to open our school to visiting students, parents and share the remarkable learning journey each and every Year 6 student has undertaken. Instead, we hope that our virtual gallery will provide a spark or provocation for further inquiry. We have never needed a relentless pursuit of knowledge, collaboration, international-mindedness and an inquiry mindset more than in these challenging times."
Congratulations to all Year 6s on their accomplishments - we are very proud of the resilience, determination and innovation they have shown during these unusual times. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank all parents, mentors and teachers who have given them invaluable support and guidance throughout the exhibition journey.
